It is not a secret that the modern world brings us a lot of surprises which are not very pleasant sometimes. It can not fully satisfy the needs of every individual. A person begins to disappoint with itself and the people who surround it, depressions come, uncertainty appears. So, it is not a surprise that we, psychologists, have a lot of work to do now. If speaking about the material side of the problem, we are glad. But if looking from the ethic side, it is very sad to observe how a person can not solve its problems by itself and it has to ask specialists for the help.
About 80% of people comes to us with their personal problems in relations. It is very difficult for some people to break up with a partner; other people can not make up their mind and create a family. A lot of people are confident in making friends with a person of opposite sex but it is very difficult for them to see a potential partner in this person. Sometimes it happens that suddenly you understand: your partner does not attract you anymore. But the main problem is still a choice of a second half. Modern men and women can not decide what they want to have from their partner, what a person it should be and what qualities it should have etc. many people do not find such a person in their surrounding and they begin to feel a loneliness. So, how does a person try to avoid such an obtrusive feeling? Some of them begin to work harder, some get a pet and some find a new hobby. A great amount of people plunges into the bottomless and such the attractive world as the Internet. Very often a person understands that the Internet itself will not help it to solve its personal problems but just give an appearance of these problems’ disappearing. But this is not always so. Maybe it sounds strange and banal but sometimes it was the Internet which helped a person to understand that its problem was not as awful as it imagined it to be.
During my practice as a psychologist, I met a lot of people who were sincerely happy they got acquainted with such a phenomenon as social networks, virtual communication, virtual internet-projects etc. it helped them to solve their issues. Here are the words of just some people:
- I had problems in my family life. I decided to try different dating sites. After communicating with some ladies I’d understood I madly loved my wife!
- I was very shy to get acquainted with women. I thought I would not be able to win their interest in me. That is why I decided to try Internet communication. It was easier to do because I did not have to be embarrassed and think what to say. Those girls helped me to become more confident and stop considering women to be something difficult to access. I have a wonderful girlfriend now and I am just happy.
- As for me, I took part in the internet-project “Virtual Wife”. Now I have an amazing wife in reality whom I love even more than my life!
There are a lot of such examples can be found. So, my friends, do not let the problem take you fully up! Search for the ways of solving your problem even if some of them seem to be absolutely absurd and inefficient for you! You never know where you find and where you lose. Maybe the strangest and the most absurd way of solving will appear to be the most effective one! Good luck! And do not give up!
